Brooklyn Food Coalition Steering Committe

The 2012 Steering Committee for the Brooklyn Food Coalition was recently assembled and confirmed. The meeting took place on February 7th, 2012 at a nifty loft-size office space located in downtown Brooklyn, New York.
The decision was reached after compelling testimonies from the selected candidates. Votes were tallied from those in attendance and BFC members.
The newly selected Steering Committee members are made up of a diverse set of people, from many walks of life.
The Brooklyn Food Coalition has much work to do for 2012, with platforms advocating food justice, community organizing, health education, research and education at the forefront.

The Green You

The Brooklyn Beautification Project and GCAMP went to visit The Big Green Theater with the students of P.S. 123 in Bushwick, Brooklyn for a crash course in sustainability and green living. Presice also surprised the kids with a special musical performance.

The students were well versed and knowledgeable of green terms. Many of them had previously participated in gardening or have family members whom have farms abroad.

At the Big Green Theater students write and create environmentally conscious plays, after participating in weekly workshops lead by various scientists and environmental leaders.

Big thanks to Noel, Jeremy and the rest of the folks over at the Big Green Theater. Keep up the great work.
