The Guggenheim lab in SoHo

The Guggenheim lab is a mobile laboratory aimed towards inspiring and exploring new ideas in the fields of education, urbanology, science, art,design, sustainability etc.

The lab is located on the corner of 2nd avenue and Allen Street in Manhattan.

The exhibit also includes education modules, games and more.

"Its goal is the exploration of new ideas, experimentation, and ultimately the creation of forward-thinking solutions for urban life."

Sustainability

To maintain a healthy balance between yourself and the environment. As you take care of your environment it will take care of you. Going "Green" is the term adopted to convey the message of sustainability, there are also many facets of a green lifestyle:

Organic Food - all natural process, no chemicals

Recycling - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle what you can (plastic, glass, and aluminum).
Reduce your consumption of Plastics and Styrofoam. Styrofoam can not be reused or recycled and should be avoided all together. Electronics should be disposed of accordingly, at your local e-waste sites (farmers market or ask Department of Sanitation).

Conserve - do not use waste more energy, water, or resources, then you have to, be conscious of your resources and conserve them
Water - turn off the water while brushing your teeth, washing your face even while doing dishes. (Harvesting rain water is an efficient and low cost way to manage your water needs, throughout a household or even a commercial building)
Electricity - Turn off lights electronics, and appliances when your not using them. (Solar panels are an essential and low cost way to harvest and the suns energy to convert into electric energy to power facilities)
Organic Matter - Plant materials, gloss free paper, leaves, fruit & vegetable scraps can all be composted to create more rich organic soil, to grow healthy plant life as well as promote good sustainable practice
